April 2012 Favorites

Time to share a few products that I have been loving this month. So lets get started!

  • Elf Powder Brush
  • Milani Compact Makeup in True Beige
  • Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Silky Beige
  • Avon Foot Scrub in Watermelon

The Elf Powder Brush is my favorite brush out of all my brushes that I own. It is amazing combined with my other favorite powder Rimmel Stay Matte. A lot of people also like to use this brush to apply thier liquid foundation, which I didn't care for. But I highly recommend this brush!  $3.00

I love this Milani Compact powder I use this powder anytime I need a little extra coverage $7-8

I have had this lip butter since around the time they came out in November/ December last year. When I first got it I wasn't that sure if I really liked it or not. But now that it is spring it has become my go to lipstick! $5-7

I had to include this powder in my favorites because it is so light and fresh! It is perfect for spring and summer when you don't want to feel like you have a ton of makeup. $6-7

I ordered this from Avon in hopes that it would help my feet! I'm embarrassed to say they were neglected during the winter months, but spring and summer is here and I needed something! I use this in the shower a couple of times a week. It smells so good and feels really nice on my feet! $3-4

I also wanted to share a blogger I have been loving! Her name is Valerie Mantz and her blog is http://thelifeofvaleriemantz.blogspot.com/  everyone should check her out! Her blog reads really easily and she also features cheaper alternatives in beauty!

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream Review

Hey everyone! Just wanted to quickly share a favorite hand cream of mine! It is so hard to find a good hand cream so I thought I would tell you guys about one that saved my dry, chappy skin in the winter! It is the Jurlique Rose Hand Cream! I was first introduced to this brand and cream through Birchbox. Here is what a full size looks like:

Things I love about this hand cream:
  • The amazing rose scent
  • Quickly feel a difference in your hands
  • Non greasy
  • A little goes a long way-so the product lasts longer
The only downside to this product would be the price. It is listed as $25.00 on the Birchbox website, but if you are a member you could use your reward points towards it. If not then I'm sure you could shop around for a good price! If you are a fan of the scent of roses and are in the market for a good high quality hand cream then I highly recommend you check this one out!

April Birchbox 2012!!

I got my Birchbox today! I was a member last year around this time and after about 6 months decided to cancel my subscribtion because I wasn't happy with what I had been receiving. But then I saw posts from last months box and it seemed like birchbox had stepped up thier game! So I signed up again. If you are unfamiliar with Birchbox it is a monthly subscription service that is only $10.00 a month. They send you deluxe samples of beauty and lifestyle products.

This is the box that it comes in, which can be reused!

Once you open your box this is what you find! Things are carefully wrapped up! And there is a card listing what products you got and thier full size prices!

What I got:
  • A cute little postcard (which advertises the perfume sample but the picture is cute)
  • Lifestyle sample -Two tea bags full size $12.50
  • Olie Biologique- A blend of five organic essential oils like argan, rosehip, and bergamont can be used on face, body, and hair. full size $56.00
  • Atelier Cologne- A pure blend of blood orange, jasmine, and sandalwood. full size $55.00-150.00
  • Befine Skincare Sampler- It contains 3 samples of thier Daily Moisterizer and 2 samples of thier Daily Cleanser full size $24.00 each
  • Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm in the shade Bronzed- Can be used on your cheeks, lips, and lids! full size $36.00 (The cool thing about birchbox is sometimes they include a full size of the product in this case I think this beauty balm is the full size)

Befine Skincare samples

Beauty Balm in Bronzed

Olie Oil

Overall I am pleasantly surprised by this box! I am really excited to try the Befine sampler cause I have been looking for a good moisterizer! I was expecting not to like what I got because I peeked on thier site to see what I was getting. But I am happy and look forward to more boxes to come!

An update of me

                            Quote from :http://xerometer.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/life-hope-quotes-132.png

Hey everyone! Just wanted to catch you up what is going on in my life. After considering the pros and cons I have decided to go back to school.  I had been in college since August 2007 which is right after I graduated highschool, I loved school I was taking basic classes at a Community College and loved it. I finished Community College with an Associates of Arts in Teaching degree. Then it was off to a University. Thats when things turned to crud. It was such a big change from a Community College to a University.. I guess I went into it a bit naive. The expectations were so much higher, the instructors were no longer as willing to assist, everything that had been so much easier at the College was no longer easy at the University. I also began to develop issues with anxiety. I would get so tense in class that I would have to excuse myself from the class. So the Fall semester of 2011 was the last time I have been in a school setting. That semester I went for the first day of class and had all those feelings rush back to me. The feeling of not being good enough, the overwhelming stress, feeling trapped, the feeling of defeat, etc all got to me so bad that I came home after that class crying my eyes out and confessing to my mom that I could no longer do it. I needed a break, I had no fight left in me. This was one of the hardest things I have gone through in my life. I had so many hopes and dreams for myself. I also had a huge weight on my shoulders- my parents dreams! I am the only one out of all 5 of us who has gone to college. They would constantly encourage me to keep going to school so I could have a better life and not have to go through some of the stuggles they went through (them only having a jr high and half of high school education). I felt like part of me was going to school for them. So they could be proud of me, so that maybe one day I would have my dream job and be able to help them financially. When I had to tell them that I was quitting school that was the last final blow.

But fast forward to today! I will return to that same University this time with a different major, a different goal, and God. Since all that heartache my faith in God has gotten stronger than it has ever been in my entire life. I will be part time only taking two classes and then in spring 2013 I will be transferring to a different university and finishing my bachelors online. So as of now I am in the whole re-enrolling process. But if you are the praying kind I would love that you would pray that the classes I need will still be available when I am finally cleared for registration. I spoke with a women at the university that I will be attending in spring 2013 and she said as long as I take classes that are related to my major they should all transfer. Which makes me so happy and relieved but I'm praying that classes will be available. Anyway if you are still reading this you are awesome lol, and my whole reason for posting this is because if you are like me and have your own things that you struggle with daily and you feel like you can't do something. YOU CAN!!! I know easier said than done. But with faith anything is possible at least thats what I am finding out! I know it wont be easy but if I ignore the past and change my mentality I know it is possible! Best wishes to you all!

A Few FF's

I decided to start doing a post that I am going to call A few FF's aka A Few Fascinating Finds. I will do these in place of a monthly favorites posts if I didn't really have many new favorites for the month. So these posts will include a few new products that I have tried, or just bought, during the month. These will usually only include 1-3 products. I will also provide you with a small review or first impressions of the items. Hope you like the idea. Now lets jump into things!
  • Avon Glazewear Shine Lipgloss in Tickled Pink

My sister recently began selling Avon so I thought I would try one of the good ol' trusty glazewear lipglosses. I say this because this brand of lipgloss was one of the first makeup items I ever used back when I was 13! I loved them then and I love them now! I hadn't used them since my early teen years and I am so glad I gave them a go again! I love the color, the smell (which reminds me of a cookie or something yummy but not in a gross overpowering way), the price ( 2.99 on sale), its not overly sticky but just right, the staying power is average but I don't mind having to reapply it occasionally.
  • Monistat Chaffing Relief Powder Gel

Now this isn't how it sounds.. haha! I purchased this through recommendations from youtube videos and was also recommended this through the beauty broadcast facebook as a FACE PRIMER!! I had seen a few girls talking about it before on there and I must admit it kinda made me cringe at first to think of putting it on my face so I never gave it a thought again. Well since I live in Texas we have already had a few warm days and my makeup melts off before the day is done. I am naturally an oily skinned girl so my makeup didn't stand much of a chance. I am guilty of never using a primer before except on my eyelids for eyeshadow. I have to say that so far so good!

  • Dove Style + Care Cream-Serum

I have frizzy hair and if I wear my hair up I have a ton of frizzy flyaways even if I put hairspray on! So when I saw this in the store I decided to give it a try because it promises to tame frizz. I knew I didn't want anything like a gel that would leave my hair crunchy and hard. Now when I wear my hair up I use this everytime and it helps a ton!

My wishlist

I was inspired to do this from http://www.beautybroadcast.net/ which is Emily Noel's blog! I love Emily and thought this was a fun idea. So here are a few things I am currently eyeing! But always seem to talk myself out of it! A girl can dream though :)

1. Naked 2 Price $50.00
I think the shades in this palette look so amazing! But with so many other great shadows in the drugstore for much cheaper I just can't ever justify the price. Which usually leads me to lusting over it through watching youtubers use it!

2. Butter London Polishes Price $14.00
Now being a nail polish junkie it makes it hard to resist the great looking colors. But yet again the price is a bit harsh in my opinion.

3. Deborah Lipman Polish Price $17.00
I have heard that nobody does glitter polishes like Deborah Lippmann. I have seen numerous posts with these polishes in Nail of the Day's and they always look amazing.

4.Laura Geller Balance and Brighten $31.00
I have seen this on QVC so many times and have heard so many people rave about it!

5.Anything from MAC Price: Varies
I have yet to own any mac product. For starters I don't live near a mac counter, so I can't find out what shade I am in there foundation. But thier products look beautiful.

6.Sigma Brush Set Price 89.00 +
I think this is the item that I want the most out of everything. I do not own a really great brush set and have heard great things about Sigma. Plus it doesn't hurt that they come in pink!

Nail of the Day(s) 4-1-12

On Friday I went to Target and decided to pick up my first Essie nail polish in the color e-nuf is e-nuf. I am sooooo glad that I did! I am in love with the formulation and the color is so gorgeous in person that I don't want to take it off. In fact after it chips I think I will re-paint them this same color!

Can you recommend any other shades of Essie I should try?

Sorry for the confusion!!

I am pretty new to blogging and have a lot to learn, with that being said I noticed that some of my pictures that I had posted are not showing up on my blog. So long story short I thought I could edit them out and it ended up posting my feb favorites again! So sorry everyone!
